I did a whole cloth quilt in the 2nd class I took (3rd quilt). It was lap sized, pattern was "French Bedroom" by Favorite Things (I think).
It was not too hard. I marked the quilt on top of a glass kitchen table, with a lamp on the floor. Much easier than doing it on a small light box or window!
The center of the pattern is a double line cross hatch, so easy to do once it was marked. Just took a long time. The reason I took the class is the border is marked vine and leaves, and it was free motion quilting (still working on that ability!)
