I have Bernina 1260 and don't use 3/4 the features it has so I know I won't use a newer machine's features. All I do is straight stitch with the occasional blanket or zig zag stitch. I use a Brother 1500 for machine quilting. I bought the Bernina one owner used for $450 and I won the Brother machine from the FabShopHop some years ago. I've seen the new machines and tried most of them and they are all excellent. You will love any new Bernina if that is what you have your heart set on.
