My 10 yr old is 5 ft 2 in and I have such a hard time with finding clothing that is appropriate for her age. I think I should just be finding patterns and making it all myself.
That's how I first got into sewing. I didn't even know how to turn on a sewing machine 6 years ago. A friend gave me one lesson and the rest I learned by trial and error. Then she gave me one quilting lesson a year later, but I didn't pick it up. Then, 3 years ago I was on bed rest for a while so I picked up some beginner quilting books and learned from there.
