That is such a beautiful quilt!! If these people mean a lot to you, ask them that if the colors or pattern are not to their liking you could make another one better suited to their taste. Then keep this beauty for yourself, and make another one with a simpler pattern and using their colors. And for Heaven's sake don't hand quilt that one... they don't seem to have much appreciation for your lovely handwork and effort!
