I haven't had hip replacement, but arthritis in my hips and back so curtailed my movement that I could not lift my legs to get into the tub. A miserable feeling! I had a tub to shower conversion in one bath and bought a bath stool to use. I don't have to wait for the tub to fill or drain, I can get in easily (about 4 inches to lift my legs), and I can sit as necessary, especially when I have to shampoo my hair. We have custody of 2 grandchildren (13-year-old girl and 15-year-old boy). My granddaughter loooooves the new tub, but my husband and grandson don't care for it. So we now a girls' bathroom and a boys' bathroom. She loves the idea that dirty boys don't occupy our space!!! Thankfully, we have the two baths.
