GGal ... no, not figured out or fixed. It just seemed it was very very bad and now it seems to be behaving! Now we'll probably jinx it all for discussing it! I know it's on it's last legs and needs replacing. The last time I had it into the techie, he said, next time to just get a new one.
The good part will be that I will go all the way and get a colour printer when I bite the bullet!
