My printer ate the freezer paper, too, so I ordered a 500-pack of 8-1/2 x 11 freezer paper sheets from C. Jenkins and haven't had a problem with it since. I don't remember what I paid for it, but it wasn't outrageous and I think it's certainly worth whatever it cost. It's here:

On the scallops, I followed Linda Frantz's advice and stitched the edge of the scallops after the quilt was basted. I've read so much about the quilt over the last couple of years that I don't remember where I ran into her post about the scallops, but I have it bookmarked if you want to read it.
