I was taught to take a piece of "new" cloth, unwashed and polish the table. Worked for me. Had a new table that would not let the fabric slide. Have you ever looked at your nice white quilting gloves after machine quilting....not a pretty site...That's when I started washing my quilts before giving away. I think it is the dyes or sizing (finish) that "polishes". Cheap and no trip to town to get something else...Don't think I would spray anything on the new electronic machines...
