You need to cut the binding on the bias to go around curves. There are a lot of tutorials on how to make continuous bias binding. Just google it. Take your time sewing the binding on the curves easing as needed and you will be fine. I think a narrow binding would work well and look nice. What you have done looks nice. Stitch binding to the front and use small ladder stitches to attach to the back and you will have an elegant finish.
