You may very well be correct about the reason, but, personally, scrap quilts don't appeal to me at all and I've cancelled two quilting magazine subscriptions because all they have in them are patterns and articles related to scraps. I tried making one once to see what all the fuss was about and hated it so much I gave it to the dog to use.

I do hold onto my scraps though. Every now and again I'll see a post of someone looking for scraps so I'll fill an envelope and mail it off. I like big block quilts myself but I have made some quilts with 1 inch finished squares. I don't have the inclination to mess with little futzul's (my word) of left over fabric.
