Thank you, sodymare! I just adore that block also! Remember the time I wondered how anybody could like that block; then found myself doing one!! haha. Love the dark red too. Wanted to tell you that dk. red in the lst pic fabric is over 100 yrs. old. It was given to us by an elderly woman, distant relative of the family, and the fabric looks as good today as it did then. They made things so well back then. It has white stars on it. When I didn't like doing the "Y" seams on the machine, I think I hand pieced a lot of it back then.
