craigslist is a great source. I have seen only oneat our thrift store but we are a tiny community. I bought a 150.00 at walmart with a three year warranty. its a brother. great machine and I quilt every day. With their credit card you also have sixmonths to pay it off without interest. That is an affordable machine in my books. I am on a fixed SS income so it was something even I could afford. No issues at all. good luck finding your machine.. patience probably is the biggest issue when you oh so want to sew.
