When I made mine, I used a 9. Found some bamboo needles in 10 and switched to that size thinking it wouldn't make a difference. Well, the scarves I made with the 10's were a bit shorter than the ones made with the 9s. Not that it mattered, just an observation because I thought with predetermined holes it wouldn't make a difference.
