I bought a wooden TV tray table and stapled on several layers of odd batting pieces, cotton of course. Then stapled tightly over that a piece of upholstery cotton fabric, and then a piece of natural Calico. Afterwards I made two washable removable covers, with elasticated edges so that it was easy to keep clean, I have had it for over 5 years and wouldn't be without it
