My teacher wanted me to work on pantos before I start free motion.....I am a full throttle type quilter, so perhaps she felt it would be better to slow me down some first. She said that pantos are actually easier than FMQ.

The rental shop had some cotton/poly blend stuff they accidentally ordered instead of cotton, so I used that. for me cheapest was good enough, tis the technique I was looking to work on, so it didnt matter the details.

Actually, my teacher told me to pick pantos that had alot of "points" and not too many long spots. She said learning to start and stop on a point is where I need practice. Again, I think she was slowing me down and making me think. I found I still had trouble NOT rounding my points by not pausing like I should, or straightening curves out between points. So I guess she had the right idea on what was best for me in learning
