After discussing this with my DH, I'm thinking of lining a pocket inside my tote with foil. Use velcro on it and keep a small credit card holder in it. Those metal wallets are thick. Someone posted a tutorial for a thin wallet that looked like it holds several credit cards. I could also line one of those too.

35 plus years ago when we lived overseas in a high pickpocket area, we were told to carry our purses in front of us and if we are walking with someone to walk closely and have the purse on the side next to your walking companion. Guys were told to carry their wallets in their front pockets. And sometimes no matter what you do you still get robbed. One of my roommates when I was single had money stolen by a friend. We had a party and we knew everybody there. I hid my stuff under dirty laundry. She did not she just hung her purse in her closet.
