I have been working on a quilt for my granddaughter that I started in '04, which was just a little while after I started quilting. The only new years resolution I made was to finish it by Christmas 2012. When I first picked it up again, it was very hard not to take everything apart and start over, but I decided that she would never know, so I just continued to complete the blocks. Although I haven't quite finished it, I did make her a different quilt for Christmas. I have decided that before I'll give the UFO quilt, she'll need to learn a few "housekeeping" skills, but that isn't answering your question.

If you don't wish to give it to your ex's sons, then don't, you could make several smaller quilts for your local animal shelter, this way, you get it out of your hair, and you don't have to "worry" about someone not liking it, because I can tell you that the animals will truly appreciate their new beds/quilts.
