Is there a book that shows how to do this? or is it your own idea?
These were my own design but there is MUCH inspiration to be found looking at show quilts from the big shows and on the blogs.

Oh my what a compliment, you are TOO kind!!! The top of the line machines are GREAT machines...but that's not to say that the lower end machines won't work. You can do this on ANY sewing machine that you can cover or drop the feeds on...meaning if you have a fifty year old antique machine you could do this too... The only thing I find hard to do on a domestic is LONG sweeping flowing feathers...for me once they get to a certain size they start to look odd...REALLY looking forward to the additional space on my new long arm!
