At the JoAnn's closest to me, you can use a coupon if you take the % off the regular price and not the sale price. If the coupon is 40% off and the item is on sale for 10% off then I use the 40% off coupon taken off the regular price.
This is the way it SHOULD be done, and the way most retailers work. But the Joann's in my town refuses to do this. So I refuse to shop there.
I have never been able to use a 40 or 50% coupon at Joann's. Whatever I want is always on sale, and they won't let you use the coupon. I think I'm ready to switch to Hancock's.
