Default hello from arkansas

hi, im kris, a friend refered me over here. great forum, ive gone through and looked at all those beautiful quilts, now i have design overload! ive put a few scrap quilts together over the years, never could get my rows straight, practice makes perfect though. now im getting that practice while sitting with my grandpaw, mawmaw had a nice singer in a walnut table that is beautiful so i decided to drag it out and have gotten hooked on making quilts. just learned to freehand quilt with my machine this last week, block by block, and thanks to yall and youtube am making a lot of progress.. hopeing to make a small business out of this and my wood work over this year to bring in a little extra money, got to make up for all those extra taxes. i started out getting some nursing scrubs for a dollar a shirt and the stuffings were the old fuzzy quilts, used but like new flat bed sheets for backing for a total of about 15 dollars to make my family some pretty quilts, just tacked them as machine quilting was so daunting. my mother, grand mothers, aunts, great grandmothers were all quilters, we still have quilts from the greats in great shape. my grandmother recently died and she had trunks full of quilt tops, i inherited about 15 tops hand pieced, gotta make these girls look good.nice to meet yall.
