All of my quilts are done on the 301A. I bought the foot from sew-classic. I would not use any other machine. You screw the feed dogs down, put your quilt under and go. I quilt heavily and there is no skipped stitches. I got rid of brand new Pfaff and bought some 301s. I use Isacord thread for quilting and love it- strong and thin with a bit of shine.
