I would imagine that if you're paper piecing the 2-1/2-inch strips would be more than adequate, and you should have plenty of scraps with them once you get started. So, if you have a particular jelly roll design in mind, I bet it would be lovely. I've been thinking about doing a DJ too. Have the book and disk...just haven't picked out the fabrics yet.
