Found this helpful list. It is categorized as "American" standard blanket sizes. A throw blanket would be somewhere between a crib and a twin, and a baby size blanket it typically 36" x 36" (ish). These guidelines are more helpful if you are making a blanket for a particular mattress size. I also like to make larger baby blankets because they last longer, although my niece's favorite is a 2' x 3' that she still brings on overnights (she is eight years old).
- Crib: 45 by 60 inches
- Twin: 66 by 90 inches
- Double: 80 by 90 inches
- Queen: 90 by 90 to 100 inches
- King: 108 by 90 to 100 inches
