I have the book Better Homes and Gardens Creative American Quilting. Page 55 shows a picture of a quilt that is exactly like Jenny's. The book dates it from the 1930's and 1940's. The name of that quilt is the Snowball Quilt. The white octagons forms were probably made from sheets back in those days. It appears just as other blocks, this one also has different names depending on regions of quilters over the years. I personally am not seeing Jobs Tears block in this quilt.
