Hi and welcome to the board. I live in Nebraska, near Omaha, and spend about 3 months near Corpus Christi in the winter. I recently made a t-shirt quilt for my 17 y-o grandson. I used flannel around the t-shirt blocks and ended up using the same flannel for the backing with Quilter's Dream cotton batting. I asked my grandson if he would like a fleece backing but he thought it might be too warm. I would have used the cotton batting even if I would have done the fleece, just for stabilizing, I guess.
