Default Three Little Fishies

I cut out over 100 squares of striped fabric and then decided that they didn't look good for the intended quilt. I've been trying to figure out what to do with them. I made some pinwheels and didn't think that they looked good together. I decided to make a border of the pinwheels after putting white fabric to space them out for a baby quilt. (Never start with the border and then try to make the center fit... especially when you don't have enough fabric for the center!) I did a web search for free coloring book pages for something to put in the center and found the fish.

This is only my second try at applique. I got some help from this thread...

I learned what a blanket stitch was and decided to try it out on this quilt.

A coworker thought I should name it after the 1939 hit "Three Little Fishies"

This was really alot of fun to work on... but now I can't get "Boop Boop Dit-tem Dat-em What-em Chu" out of my head!
