The lady at ebay got back to me with a photo! It's all properly oriented now. For the record, I had it upside down (though oriented this way, the stitch selector can hit it if you turn it backwards. ) It still seems like a weird setup, but it's back to "Stock" now.
No one at the heirloom elna group even replied with a "Welcome" when I posted.
