Thumbs up Magic!

I am in the zone piecing a quilt top on my nearly 100 year old Red Eye treadle. Who all treadled today?

I haver two treadles, a red eye and a 15 Centenial (Mary Kelly). Mary Kelly is a straight leg made in England and sews like a dream. It has a reverse. I bought her from a woman who told me the machine was owned by her mom, Mary Kelly, in New Mexico. It has damage to the patina and wood from standing in the sun behind a window for years and then being stored after Mary Kelly passed away. Her daughter took it to California where I bought it.

My mind wonders where my Red Eye 66 treadle came from, who owned it and what they made on it. I bought it from a retired antique dealer and it supposedly came from back east. We are west coast and it seems many of the treadles here at one time came from the east with their owners.
