Ecolux Lighting makes a wonderful LED light strip for sewing machines (I have 2). I purchased mine from the Cotton Club (cottonclub.com). This may solve your problem.
I agree with the Ecolux light. It is wonderful. Before I got the Ecolux, I had a Bendable Bright Light. I use both of them now. I'd made a couple of quilts with a lot of black (thread, sashings, applique) and my 70 yo eyes had a very hard time seeing. The Ecolux made a huge difference.
