As one of your old members, I just wanted to share with you. I have searched hi+lo for wool at thrift shops, also checked out many fabric shops. Bottom line the fabric shops are pricie. The thrift shops are good for your basic dark colors. Hard to find in colors. So I started experimenting with felt. I have been pretty pleased with my results to date. I use oil pastel crayons, to create the shading and detailing on the pieces I use for applique. Requires alot of piece work and I hand applique all my pieces, but as of todate I'm on my fourth quilt, using felt. I'm still interested in using wool and I still look. I have found that for me to buy a piece of white wool and then dye using kool-aid, would be the best. But I'm an old believer, that you don't break the bank to make your art work. The last time I checked Joanns, they wanted 12.98 a yd for plain white wool. But I'll continue on my quest, an on occassion I get lucky, Rebecca
