I've recently been buying furniture at Walmart for my sewing space and have been very happy. A table that size is invaluable for sandwiching. I have one that was purchased at an estate sale but it is hardwood on the bottom. My husband made shelves for the center. It is sturdy and one of the only things that survived the flood -- except for the shelves. How sturdy do you need it to be? Are you going to sit on it? No. You'll cut fabric on it and you'll sandwich. IMHO, go for it!
