Nice fabrics.

Were the strips from a purchased Jelly Roll or did you cut them yourselves?

At this point it doesn't matter how things went wonky because you can't undo it.
Possible that the strips weren't cut correctly, or the seam allowance used to sew them together was too wide or thin - could be from many causes.

What happens if you join like squares in a row?
iow, they all have the solid brown, but what if you took the brown/yellow blocks and sewed them in a row or into a big square?
Would the strips them line up?
You create a different pattern.

I'm thinking/hoping that perhaps since they were cut from the same strip set, they'll align more easily.
