The lines on a Index Card are truely 1/4inch apart.
I use this to line up my needle, and then put my painters tape down.
Works great every time.

YIKES ! I didn't know that. That is so easy. I used to use a ruler, put the needle down, place the ruler against the needle and then place the sticky note pad stack at the quarter inch mark.
