I don't have an answer for you. I have a Viking Diamond and it does all of that tension thing for me. I would suggest to check out Yahoo, they have a group for just about all the machines around. You might find help there. Is there a dealer close to you. I know here we have a sew in vac place that specializes in Brother. I don't know how there support is but can't you call them or email them.
