Here's a quick and easy way to tie quilts that I have done on baby quilts. Machine stitch about 4" of 1/4" to 1/2" sating ribbon randomly on your quilt (Tack stitch). Then tie the ribbon with a surgeons knot. Voila....DONE.
Surgeons Knot: Tie once (like shoe laces) the on the second loop thread your ribbon end TWICE through the loop and pull tight.
