Real velvets are very expensive. Nice velvet throw pillows sold for $40 each at our Guild booth at a local Home Show. A lined velvet throw sold for $85. The fabric was donated from a local upholster shop that was ordered but wasn't used. We bought inexpensive solid color throw pillows at Walmart (cheaper then the forms) and put the velvet slip covers over them. We made a nice profit per pillow. Our time was donated to make the covers. Some members embossed designs in the velvets, added nice trim, and some embroidered on the velvet. The booth fees are pretty high in these type shows but if you have the right products to sell it will be a nice profit making venue.
