I disagree, that quilt is not ugly at all, it's just not to your taste. I would finish it as it is, quilt it, bind it and donate it to raise money for your aunt and uncle. It's a good thing you are doing. When I was a girl about 10 years old, we lost our home to a fire and the church people donated quite a bit of stuff to us to help us out.
