Default How can 1 baby quilt.....

How can one little baby quilt be so much trouble!!! Last Sunday night my youngest called and asked if I could make a baby quilt by Saturday for my DIL's brother's new son. I said "no" you know I work full time.....then guilt set in.....argh!! They never ask me for anything so Monday night I dug around and thought I had something I could make work, but decided I was going to have to go to the LQS on Tuesday. I was off Tuesday to go with DH to the Dr. which gave me an afternoon to sew $$ later I found the right fabric and decided to do a disappearing nine patch, my first, it looked quick and easy and it was. Perfect, top was done by evening. I decided to spray baste since it wasn't going to be very big and that would hasten the process. (Sorry long story!) Emailed picture to son and he says Mom we bought them a camcorder So now plans are changed and my husband and I will gift, since it's good for family relations and the baby was born 2 months premature and it's been hard on the family and I just want to. Wednesday after work I start quilting a meandering stitch. Machine is skipping stitches BIG time (grrrrrr....) I get on computer, do some research discover my Bernina 820 doesn't do well with spray basting, but I'm not giving in or up....adjust pressure, change needles, try my backup machine....by Thursday night I give up. Took off Friday afternoon to come home to rip, rip, rip, rip, rip micro stitches! Wake up this morning, sew grids, bind, wash and dry! It's done and it was all so simple (LOL)!!
