Default Adventure (How I Created a Monster!)

I always read, but rarely post but some might enjoy this story. I've been blessed for nearly 40 years with a man who loves old cars and encourages a true quilting addict. (ME!) I have three portable machines, FW, Kenmore, and Bernina bought second-hand all of which I love. I've been looking for a cabinet or table so I can have either the Kenmore or the Bernina set up for FMQ. Yesterday was the day: we brought home yet another machine in a desk cabinet, purchased for $7.42 (can't forget the 6% sales tax can we?) The cabinet looks like a desk when it's closed and it has a workhorse of a 60's Kenmore inside which runs sluggishly due to dirt/solidified oil/lint. I would guess that the previous owner was a serious sewer judging by the bits of thread left in one of the drawers (Turquoise silk Corticelli on a wooden spool, among other things) Anyway, to get this machine was an adventure! It was posted on Craigslist and the seller has more than one machine to sell. This guy runs auctions and he was just trying to empty stock. "You need to go through the door by the yellow railing and loading docks, gave the cyber code to unlock the door, go straight back and there's kinda a secret passage way and leave the cash in the top of the freezer if you take anything!" Found the place (DH said, "what's the point of having an adventure if you don't get lost!") DH shows signs of getting into refurbishing the machine too- and that's the monstrous part. Cars are bad enough!!!
