For practice fabric (and suitable for use also), find your local thrift store. 100% Cotton and flannel mens shirts have good size pieces that can be cut and made into quilts. Also ask about fabric they may have.

Amazing how the way you perceive something changes everything. The material stayed the same but my thinking about it changed. LOL
