My sister died in 2003 and left many, many quilt blocks. Apparently she loved to make the blocks. I gave most of them to her daughter to finish, but found out she is not interested. One that I took, she had put an applique star on muslin and sewed plaid to one side of all the blocks. I found lots of plaids with it and sewed different plaids to each side of each blocks. Then I sewed them together. I can't call it sashing because it doesn't all match, so when everyone calls it 'framing', I became excited! Finally, I found a word for it!
