I have had a chair throw/"something for the dogs to lie on" quilt basted and ready for quilting for months...along with a string quilt top for my DIL. Both these require FMQ to look their best....I am however a big chicken and have been putting off learning FMQ ....well not this week! I am using the "throw" as my experiment piece (I ran out of really awful practice fabric) the top is feather printed, high sheen, curtain fabric (not backed), with an old tablecloth for batting and a piece of thick brown velvet for the back....basically the blocks are rectangular and so far two rectangles have been FMQ'd! Yay I can sort of do it! (no birdsnests, eyelashes or rumpled backing). Sure there are a few uneven stitches and the design is more "mutant seaweed" than curvaceous stippling but I got that hopping foot on and DID IT!!. That...is my goal for the week....sorry for rabbiting on...but I'm really surprised with myself and no-one else in my life will "get it" like my QB friends
