One lady said "you paid thousands of dollars for that machine
and you can't make me a baby quilt for my great grandaughter?"
This is the most bizarre logic I've ever heard. Would 'you paid thousands of dollars for that car, you can't drive my daughter to softball practice' work on anyone?

You have nothing to feel guilty about. I don't like obligation sewing. My neighbor asked if I could 'just sew one straight line' for her- turns out she wanted a table runner, a bit more than one straight line (oh, could you do pointed ends). I did it, it wasn't perfect but looked okay (the place I decided to turn it wasn't the best, lesson learned), took me about an hour, her husband came by to pick it up, while he did say Thank You, I haven't heard a word from her! Pretty annoyed about that- how hard is it to facebook and say thanks?
