Thank you. These were 60 degree triangles with the top point notched off. The straight of grain line had to be sewn to the octagon first on two separate sides to make the block into a rhombi shaped block.

I could see where it would make a big difference with a balanced triangle & I will make note of this helpful tip as well for the future.

Quilting is a learning process & I am so greatful for the wealth of knowledge others here are willing to share on this forum. I learn something new daily
