We live just about two hours south of St. Augustine. St. Augustine is very historical and you will love it! Be sure to see the oldest school house in America on St. George Street. St. George Street has lots of different and cute shops to browse through and enjoy. Also visit the Old Fort - lots of history there. If you can take the trolley train that takes you around St. Augustine, you can get on and get off at different stops and you will get a lot out of that from the driver narrating - it is well worth it and will give your feet a break. The Columbia restaurant is well known in different cities in Florida - more than your fast food type of thing - but if you want the feel of the Spanish influence, you will enjoy it very much.
