If your pic is too big, that can sometimes cause this. Try shrinking the file size to below 600 megapixels. One of the programs that's easy to do this with, that is also free, is Picasa. You might also try posting a photo in an album on your profile, then posting a link here once you have the file size resolved. It's worth a try anyway.
