The group that I am in inherited some pretty ugly fabrics- we have cut them into strips and made string type quilts- they turn out beautiful. Not to tell you what to do with your stuff, but if you posted pictures of your stash that you despise, I'd be willing to bet that someone here would like it! You could always cut up old clothes for your paint rags of mops.
