Wow Sue! Thank you so much for sharing this! What a beautiful example of a passionate quilter from back before we had all of our beloved quilting trinkets of today! I wish I could afford it. Someone mentioned it was priced 10 times it's value but I don't think so. I do think it is priced too high, but it is probably worth at least $1500. I buy a lot of antique quilts and have never seen one quite like this. Lovely.

Interesting that it was made in California but currently resides in Lancaster PA. I just hope the current owner didn't weasel it away from a family for a little money to turn around and offer it for $$$$$$. I always feel sad when I see quilts like this leave a family. Isn't there SOMEONE in that family-even extended- that would value it and pass it down? Sigh, my quilting and genealogy passions combining!
