Oh yes, I folded all pieces up to a certain size into one shape, then folded pieces over that size to a different shape and stacked them on the shelves of the armoire. That helped a lot.
You can decide what size groupings to make.
I also used my 8x24 ruller to roll/fold the larger fabric.
I made a smaller cardboard folding card for smaller fabric.
Lois Hallock discusses fabric storage in her book "Creating your Perfect Quilting Space: Sewing-room makeovers for any space and any budget". It is a bit over the top, but gets you to thinking about folding to fit your space as well as the size of the pieces. The book is published by That Patchwork Place. Check out your local library and see if they have a copy.
