My dealer told me to:

When you go to settings to choose the sensormatic mode, after you select it, a sub menus will come up to allow you to change your pivot height from 0 to -2 or -3. Disengage the automatic foot lift option.

When I learned to do that all the fmq troubles disappeared.

You can purchase an open toed foot for the sensormatic and it works quite well as it gives better visibility
